I started blogging back in 2008 and have completely lost sight of one of my favorite things. Writing. There's just something about it -- a certain freedom with putting something out there and getting it off your mind. Not to mention that as I get older and busier, my mind is not what it use to be. Days and weeks go so fast now and my little Kadence is growing up so quickly. Life is in fast forward and I'm desperately trying to slow it down. One day at a time. And I hope that writing again will give me some sort of control over that. 'Hope' being the key word in that sentence :)
Today was a new beginning and quite a milestone. First solid food!! After reading the 'What To Expect' chapter on the subject [twice haha] and making sure that batteries were charged in the camera [twice], Jason and I mixed up the goopy cereal and put Baby K in her new pink Bumbo. At first she just seemed to look at us with some confusion, but after a few quick bites and some much needed head support, she got the hang of it. After scarfing down everything we'd mixed up, she seemed to look at us like, "That's it??" She definately wasn't happy that there wasn't anymore! I don't think we're going to have any trouble getting her to eat in the future.
HEALTH UPDATE: As many of you know, Baby K was in a spica cast for about 10 weeks. She's now been upgraded to a brace for an undetermined amount of time. She absolutely loves her little legs! And I'm so happy that she gets to wear little pants and dresses now instead of her cast. We just had a 4 month check up last week, she's at 13 pounds, 11 ounces and 26.5 inches. Our doctor said she's a giant HAHA -- she's in the 95% for her age. Besides the hip issue, everything is in good order.
